Beryl has just returned from a triumphant trip to Crete. It has now been 25 years since she wrote her first guide book to Spinalonga, the island where Greece isolated their leper community. Beryl's publication was instrumental in Melina Mercouri, Minister of Culture at the time, intervening and stopping the development of a hotel on the island and a Preservation Order being granted instead.

Beryl has recently been approached to update this guide book and consequently has visited the island again. This visit also coincided with the publication of 'Anna' that had been translated into Greek. She is proudly pictured with a copy in the Rethymnon book shop. Beryl has written a series of books about a Cretan family and these are widely available in Elounda, the nearest mainland town to Spinalonga, where there is considerable interest in her books, she is often stopped in the streets to sign copies! In England her books are available to order through Waterstones and this website.

Beryl's latest book in the Cretan family series NICOLA is due for publication in December, so don't forget to place your order for Christmas!
